Quick sketch was an exercise we did at Tippett for awhile, it went something like this… Someone would pick an image at the beginning of the day, email it out and then at some point in the day you would take 30 minutes to try to reproduce the image. Most used Photoshop, but some even put pencil to paper. We would then email our drawing back to the group. It was humbling, challenging and informative. We all learned from each other by comparing each others approaches and pushing ourselves day after day.
Artists from both the animation and art departments participated in Quick Sketch. The image below is telling of the different sensitivities of the two departments. The column on the left are images by the Art Department, the images on the right by the Animation Department.
